European Technology & Innovation Platforms (ETIPs) have been created by the European Commission in the framework of the new Integrated Roadmap Strategic Energy Technology Plan (SET Plan) by bringing together a multitude of stakeholders and experts from the energy sector.

The ETIP Smart Networks for Energy Transition (SNET) role is to guide Research, Development & Innovation (RD&I) to support Europe’s energy transition. As part of this mission, ETIP SNET organizes 4 Regional Workshops per year over the course of 4 years, covering the whole European Union.

The Western Region Workshop 2017 happens in Lisbon on the 28 and 29 September, at EDP headquarters. EDP Distribuição is the host of an event dedicated to the presentation of the outcomes and findings of mature national and regional RD&I projects, highlighting their successes and challenges and promoting discussion, exchange of experience and best practices and identification of existing barriers.
