At the official event of the EDP/Expresso - Sustainable Living partnership, which took place on the premises of the Impresa Group, representatives from the two companies were present: António Mexia, Vera Pinto Pereira, and Francisco Pedro Balsemão.
This is a partnership made up of two distinct strands, namely commercial and editorial.
Sustainable building
EDP Comercial and the Impresa Group are going to partner in an energy optimization project, forming a long-term partnership (10 years) for this purpose that will start operating in August.
The partnership, which is materialized in an Esco model contract (Investments remunerated for the savings generated), is characterized by:
- Project managed by EDP Comercial, including monitoring the performance of the implemented measures;
- Diversity of energy optimization solutions:
- Consumption reduction through the replacement of lighting and the installation of more than 1,600 LED lights;
- Local energy production using solar photovoltaic technology, with a 360-panel plant;
- Capacity building for the charging of electric vehicles by installing semi-fast charging points (GENERICID-0) connected to the Mobi.E.
And it will allow the Impresa Group to:
Optimize costs - reduce the electricity bill for the Impresa building;
Decrease ecological footprint - reduction of more than 95 tons of CO2 per year of emissions associated with the consumption of electricity from fossil sources. That is the equivalent of planting 678 trees or reducing traveling by 1.000.000 km/year for a combustion vehicle;
Produce their own energy - production through a photovoltaic solar plant for part of the electricity consumed in the facilities of Paço de Arcos;
Be at the forefront in terms of intelligent mobility by installing electric vehicle charging points.
Editorial partnership
As for the editorial side, this partnership provides production of content for more than 100 days, with promotion in the area created especially for this purpose on the Expresso website "Vida Sustentável" and its paper edition, and SIC Notícias, whose contents will be presented in three perspectives: state, companies, and people.
In addition to the publication of the articles, other actions are planned to promote a sustainable lifestyle, including the holding of debates, an edition for two maps of Portugal with routes for bicycles, running, and walking, the location of charging stations for electric vehicles, and a guide with 100 tips for sustainable living.
