In Spain, strengthening the organizational capacities of NGOs.
The Academia Fundación EDP is an initiative that aims to facilitate social development and strengthen the organizational skills of the entities that the Foundation supports through EDP Solidária. Thus, with better organizational skills, the social impact can be enhanced.
Continuing to grow
Since 2015, the Fundação EDP, through its EDP Solidarity (EDP Solidária) program, has supported projects from different social entities to contribute to improving people's quality of life, in the areas where EDP operates.
Aware of the importance of the work carried out by these entities, in the territories in which it is involved, EDP Foundation has gradually incorporated elements aimed at fostering their organizational development.
The EDP Foundation Academy project is part of this line of action, incorporating another working approach, the result of accumulated experience and learning obtained, to respond more effectively to the needs of institutional strengthening and management of the entities.
Thus, the main goal of this innovative and free initiative is to contribute to strengthening the organizational capacities of entities, and to reinforce their social impact, fulfilling the global objective of the EDP Solidarity (EDP Solidária) program.
The participants' training occurs in areas such as finance, human resources, communication and marketing, innovation, energy economy and efficiency, networking, legal aspects, and social impact, among other subjects. The courses of action, taught primarily by EDP professionals, are conducted in three stages, in-person regime (in Madrid) and online.
The Academy supports more than 30 companies that already were a part of the Solidarity EDP course of action, with scholarships or grants, for social, cultural, environmental, educational, and investigation projects. From these, the EDP Foundation will select five, who will receive personal support and monitoring, to further enhance their development.
