In Spain, promoting fair energy transition
In March 2021, Fundación EDP, EDP Clientes and Cáritas Española signed an agreement under which FEDP financed 12 instalments of projects for the execution of “turnkey” self-consumption facilities contracted by Cáritas Española to EDP Clientes. Under this agreement, 3 facilities of Cáritas Córdoba and another of Cáritas Soria benefited. However, and in keeping with the objectives of promoting a just energy transition, since the end of 2022 FEDP has reconsidered its support for this program, expanding support for the execution of Self-Consumption facilities in entity premises, which are fully financed by FEDP to solidarity price made by EDP Customers.
On a temporary basis, FEDP has paid the fees corresponding to the first 5 years of the facilities that are already built or in the building phase (Córdoba and Soria). Likewise, during 2022, an agreement has been signed with Energía Sin Fronteiras for the execution of the Self-consumption installation in Cáritas Andújar (Jaén). Finally, in November, the full financing of the Self-Consumption facility of Cáritas Mondoñedo Ferrol (women's occupational workshop) was paid 6,752 euros.
The previous actions, although being part of the Solidarity Energy program, have come to be part of the new project called Solidarity Solar.
